These are words I received from the Lord Jesus during prayer. The Lord would speak through His Holy Spirit in words, phrases and sentences. Initially I wrote them down in my journal. Later I started just typing them on the computer in a Word document. Sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night with a sense to get up and listen and the words would flow freely. Most of the time I set aside a portion of my prayer time to listen. At times I would express my own praise to the Lord or begin to describe His majesty. This would then lead to the Spirit speaking to my heart.
In 1996 I felt led to share the words I received with some of my Christian friends. Now I wish to share these to a greater audience and to make them available on this blog so that others may read them. For these public posts I have edited out any references to family or friends.
These words should not be considered as prophecy in the foretelling sense, but rather as words of encouragement and exhortation. These words were given to me and readers should discern any application to their own life. The words may be copied and used. I occasionally will reread past words for further reflection. I regularly read and study the Bible and hope that what is written is consistent with the truths found in the Bible.
I have found that God wants to speak to His people and if we quiet ourselves and desire to listen to Him, He will speak in our thoughts and impressions. Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd in John 10:1-17 and He calls His own sheep by name and they follow Him because they know and listen to His voice.
